The Brokerage Intern will gain significant knowledge and experience in freight brokerage operations and gain real-world business experience and skills that will prepare them for their future career. This role will provide support to our customer and carrier operations, sales, and strategic teams through experiential learning in the brokerage business areas.Â
Responsibilities
- Learn the ins and outs of brokerage accounts from their accompanying customer service representatives.
- Updating and maintaining transportation management systems (TMS) or databases with accurate information.
- Schedule appointments and input shipment details for all related loads.
- Assisting in coordinating and tracking shipments from origin to destination.
- Field customer inquiries regarding shipment status.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure new and existing accounts are being appropriately serviced.
- Shadow experienced logistics professionals to gain insights into the industry and company operations.
- Supporting the logistics team in various ad-hoc projects and assignments as needed.
- Communicate with customers and related facilities to ensure that needs are met.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to take verbal/written instruction and execute with confidence
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and as a team when needed.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Customer service skills.
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Pursuing higher education in business administration or supply chain preferred.
- Prior customer service experience a plus
