Apparel Technical Design Intern

About the Role

The Apparel Technical Design Intern will support Ariat’s Technical Design team while gaining hands-on exposure to Men’s and Women’s apparel development. This internship is designed as a learning experience, offering visibility into the product lifecycle from concept through production. The intern will build foundational knowledge in garment construction, fit, and technical design while working alongside cross-functional teams such as Design and Product Development.

You’ll Make a Difference By

• Assisting with basic updates to tech packs, including measurements and construction details
• Learning how to read and understand product specifications, fit blocks, and sizing standards
• Observing fit sessions and take notes to support the team
• Helping track samples and organize materials throughout the development process
• Reviewing garments with the team to learn about construction and quality standards
• Assisting in maintaining records of fit comments and product details
• Supporting simple technical sketch updates using tools like Adobe Illustrator
• Assisting with other responsibilities based on business needs

About You

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Fashion Design, Apparel, or related field
• Interest in apparel development and garment construction
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Organized, proactive, and able to follow direction in a fast-paced environment

The hourly rate for this position is $20 per hour.

The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations. Ariat in good faith believes that this posted compensation range is accurate for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This contract position may be eligible for select benefits through the payrolling agency. Benefits may include medical, dental, and vision insurance options and 401k.
