About the opportunity:
We're hiring AI Developer Interns to help build an AI-powered testing platform that transforms how Dayforce implementations are validated. Today, implementation teams spend hundreds of hours manually testing configurations, validating business scenarios, and verifying results across multiple workflows. Our goal is to reduce that effort by more than 50% through intelligent automation.
As an AI Developer Intern, you'll contribute directly to the development of production software that combines modern AI capabilities with test automation. You'll work alongside software engineers and implementation consultants to understand real customer testing processes, identify automation opportunities, prototype AI-driven solutions, and measure the impact of your work.
This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience building agentic AI applications while solving meaningful business problems that directly improve implementation efficiency.
What you’ll get to do:
Design, build, and enhance features within an AI-powered test automation platform
Collaborate with implementation consultants to map manual testing workflows and identify automation opportunities
Develop AI-driven workflows using technologies such as Azure OpenAI, LangChain, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic AI frameworks
Build capabilities for automated test case generation, execution, and intelligent analysis of test results
Develop backend services using Python and SQL while contributing to front-end functionality using React and JavaScript
Measure and analyze the effectiveness of automation by tracking metrics such as implementation hours saved, test coverage improvements, and earlier defect detection
Document technical solutions and communicate findings to both technical and business stakeholders
Skills and experience we value:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
Strong programming skills in Python
Working knowledge of SQL, including joins, aggregations, and query optimization
Experience developing web applications using JavaScript; experience with React is considered an asset
Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and generative AI concepts
Experience working with REST APIs and modern software development practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Curiosity, initiative, and the ability to work effectively in an environment with evolving requirements
What would really make you stand out:
Experience with Azure AI or Azure OpenAI services
Experience using LangChain or other agentic AI frameworks
Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and vector databases
Experience with software test automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or pytest
Exposure to Human Capital Management (HCM), payroll, or enterprise SaaS applications
Experience contributing to production software projects through internships, research, or personal projects
